Lollipop Forming Machine

The Methena-400 lollipop forming machine solves all these problems in one machine. It replaces manual labor with a top-pressure mold forming structure, integrating the quantitative distribution of candy paste, stick positioning, and stamping into a continuous mechanical action. Driven by a 1.5kW variable-speed motor, it can process 100 to 300 kilograms of candy paste per hour, equivalent to approximately 600 to 800 finished products. Changing production only requires replacing the forming head; spherical, hemispherical, cylindrical, oval, rectangular, and even animal shapes can be switched on a single machine.

Product Introduction

In the large-scale production of hard candies and lollipops, the molding process directly determines the product's appearance quality, weight consistency, and the operational efficiency of subsequent packaging. The lollipop molding machine is the core equipment in this process—it is responsible for the crucial task of precisely pressing the cooked and prepared sugar paste into uniformly shaped and weighted lollipops using a mold-forming system.

Unlike traditional molding methods that rely on manual kneading or simple molding, the Methena industrial-grade lollipop molding machine employs a top-pressure mold-forming structure, coupled with a high-precision mold alignment system and a stable sugar supply mechanism. This enables precise sugar distribution and stable molding under continuous operation. The optimized mechanical molding mechanism ensures smooth feeding and stable pressure control, reducing molding deformation and ensuring that each lollipop is uniform in shape, weight, and has clear edges.

Working Principle and Technical Barriers

The machine's operation breaks down into three stages.

Stage One: Sugar mass uniform feeding. The sugar rope from the upstream rope sizer enters the adjusting rollers. An adjustable sugar wheel controls the feed thickness. The gap between the two pairs of feed rollers determines the sugar quantity per piece. The adjustment handle links both roller sets to ensure identical left-right spacing. Any asymmetry here produces visible weight deviation within the same batch.

Stage Two: Stick insertion positioning. Before the sugar rope reaches the forming station, a fork mechanism feeds sticks one by one from the stick hopper into the insertion rod. The rod stroke depth is adjustable. For plastic or bamboo sticks of 2.6 to 6 mm diameter, the insertion depth must embed the stick at least 15 mm into the sugar body, otherwise the stick loosens after cooling contraction. The timing synchronization between the fork and insertion rod is the core technical barrier that competing machines struggle to replicate: the coordination error is controlled at the millisecond level.

Stage Three: Stamping and forming. The pressing slider drives the steel mold downward, filling the sugar mass into the mold cavity while simultaneously completing stick insertion. The mold cavity clearance is held within a tight tolerance band. Both hand wheels on the slider must be adjusted simultaneously and equally to produce flash-free finished pieces. Formed candies exit through the discharge chute to downstream cooling.

Detail Presentation

Industrial lollipop forming machine structure

Drive and transmission system.A 1.5 kW variable-speed motor connects to the gearbox via V-belt, which then drives a cam mechanism to execute the stamping action. The speed control switch follows a specific startup protocol: turn fully counterclockwise to close before starting, jog to confirm clockwise rotation of the forming head, then acts gradually accelerate. This design embeds a mechanical safety logic. Reverse rotation caused by incorrect wiring phase would damage the cam and mold within seconds, so the switch startup sequence itself as a protection layer.

Forming components. The steel mold is food-grade stainless steel with a mirror-polished cavity surface. A 3 mm gap between the pressing wheel and the hinged cover plate is critical. Too tight and the sugar mass heats up under compression and sticks to the mold; too loose and flash forms. Both pressing hand wheels must be turned simultaneously. This seemingly simple operational requirement reflects a mechanical balance principle: uneven single-side loading causes the slider guide column to wear asymmetrically, shortening the guide mechanism's service life.

Control panel.Digital display shows running status. Three buttons: start, stop, and emergency stop. The emergency stop button is independent of the speed control circuit. Pressing it cuts main motor power immediately, meeting the safety shutdown response requirements of confectionery production floors.

Material standards. All components in direct contact with sugar mass are SUS304 stainless steel, including the sugar inlet, feed rollers, pressing wheel, and discharge chute. This grade does not develop intergranular corrosion in the 80 to 110 degree Celsius sugar mass temperature range. Surface roughness Ra does not exceed 0.8 micrometers, satisfying the hygiene requirements for rapid CIP cleaning and batch turnaround in food production facilities.

Product Advantages

1. Top-Pressure Mold Forming SystemUtilizing a top-pressure mold forming structure, coupled with high-precision mold alignment control, the equipment achieves precise pressing and forming of the candy. Under continuous operation, the shape, weight, and edge clarity of each lollipop remain highly consistent, meeting standardized production requirements.

2. Adjustable Sugar Dispensing WheelEquipped with an adjustable sugar dispensing wheel, the candy size can be precisely adjusted according to product specifications, ensuring consistent candy weight and smooth feeding. The weight of a single lollipop can be adjusted within the range of 6–18g, adapting to the production needs of lollipops of different sizes.

3. Flexible Mold Replacement for Multi-Product ProductionBy changing the forming mold, the equipment can produce various styles of lollipops, including spherical, hemispherical, cylindrical, flat round, and animal-shaped lollipops. The molds are made of stainless steel, durable, easy to clean, and reusable. One machine can cover multiple product production switching, significantly reducing equipment investment.

4. Food-Grade Stainless Steel ConstructionThe entire machine is constructed of food-grade stainless steel. All parts in contact with the sugar, such as the sugar inlet, forming cavity, and discharge chute, are made of SUS304, which is hygienic and corrosion-resistant, suitable for long-term contact with high-temperature sugar. The streamlined cavity design facilitates daily cleaning and maintenance, meeting the hygiene standards of confectionery production environments.

5. Stable and Continuous OperationThe optimized forming and feeding mechanism supports stable sugar distribution and continuous forming, reducing forming deformation and ensuring consistent forming quality. The equipment can maintain good forming consistency under long-term continuous operation, facilitating seamless integration with upstream sugar boiling equipment and downstream cooling and packaging processes.

6. Multiple Safety ProtectionsEquipped with multiple safety protection systems, including overload protection and abnormal operation protection, the machine provides stable and reliable operation under continuous production conditions, reducing equipment management risks and the probability of unexpected downtime.
